After Dad's hip surgery, we were nervous about him coming home too soon. The Ewa Care team made the transition seamless. Professional, warm, and truly caring — they exceeded every expectation.
The caregiver Ewa matched us with for my wife's dementia care is an absolute angel. She manages the difficult moments with such grace and compassion. I can't thank them enough.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know before getting started with Ewa Care.
In most cases we can arrange care within 48–72 hours of your initial consultation. For urgent situations — such as hospital discharge — we can often mobilise a caregiver within 24 hours. Call us at +1 (289) 652-5650 and we'll do everything we can to meet your timeline.
Absolutely. We believe consistency is the foundation of great home care. We assign a primary caregiver to your loved one and do everything possible to maintain that relationship long-term. For live-in and full-time care, the same caregiver is assigned by default.
We maintain a trained backup pool so your care is never interrupted. If your primary caregiver cannot attend, we notify you as early as possible and send a fully vetted replacement who has been briefed on your loved one's care plan. You are never left without support.
Our minimum visit is 3 hours. This ensures enough time for meaningful, quality care rather than a rushed visit. For live-in care or 24/7 arrangements, different minimums apply — contact us to discuss your specific needs.
Yes. Every Ewa Care caregiver holds a current CPIC Vulnerable Sector Check (renewed every 6 months), is covered under WSIB, and is included on our $2M commercial general liability policy. We are fully bonded and insured. Detailed documentation is available upon request.
Many private insurance and employee benefit plans cover home care — we provide official receipts for all services. In Ontario, you may also be eligible for funding through Ontario Health atHome (formerly CCAC), the Ontario Caregiver Program, or Veterans Affairs Canada. Our coordinators can walk you through the options during your free consultation.
A PSW (Personal Support Worker) provides daily living assistance — bathing, grooming, meal preparation, companionship, and medication reminders. A RPN (Registered Practical Nurse) is a regulated healthcare professional licensed by the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) who can perform clinical nursing acts including wound care, medication administration (injections), health assessments, and chronic disease management. Many clients benefit from both — a PSW for daily support and an RPN for clinical needs.
No referral is required to enquire about or arrange RPN services through Ewa Care. However, for certain clinical acts (such as medication administration or wound care), our RPN will work from an existing physician's order or care plan. If you don't have one in place, our RPN can conduct an initial health assessment and liaise with your doctor. Simply call us and we'll guide you through the process.
Yes — every Ewa Care RPN holds a current, valid registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). You can verify any RPN's registration number directly on the CNO public register at cno.org. We provide CNO registration numbers upon request and display them on our team profiles. This is a non-negotiable standard at Ewa Care.
PSW services typically range from $22–$32/hr depending on care type and schedule. RPN clinical services reflect the advanced clinical training, CNO licensing, and scope of practice involved. Many clients combine both — PSW support for daily hours and RPN visits for specific clinical needs — to get the best value and highest standard of care. Call us for a personalised quote.
